Summit Builders Group offers antimicrobial air barriers which creates protection on almost any type of surface. After years of actual application experience from our first sealant technology breakthrough called AireBarrier, Biosealants is designed to give any business a cleanable surface while dramatically improving the bio security conditions of the surface sprayed. In many cases, the return on investment through energy savings can be in calculated in months and could pay for the cost of the application. Additional benefits of the BioSealants sealant technology include:
Adhesion is critical and the BioSealants antimicrobial air barrier will stick to almost any surface including concrete, plastic, metal, wood or aluminum. This allows for continuity between the different surfaces which is it sprayed on giving an actual seal to the entire wall or surface. Most other sealants are designed for a particular surface so often the entire air tight system is compromised.
BioSealants are air and water resistant which creates an air barrier that will stop bacteria and other microbes from being transferred from one location to another. Most often it is air and moisture movement that will cross contaminate an area, but if it is sealed off this will help assist in improving any biosecurity program.
Because this antimicrobial air barrier goes on smooth, it allows for a cleanable surface. This also gives added protection by offering additional ways to stop bacteria from harboring into the material. The smooth surface can also reduce the cost of cleaning any surface because there is less labor and chemicals used.
The material that BioSealants is composed of is impervious to most growth of any kind, including mold and mildew. Mold in hospitals can be a very destructive to the operation, especially if it is near the OR. Once it is applied to a surface, that surface will no long receive either air or moisture which are the major components for any type of growth. Effectively, Biosealants will cut off the food source while providing antimicrobial protection. This is very important for hospital biosecurity and for dealing with mold in hospitals.
Biosealants can not only be applied to a rusty surface, but once applied it will cut off the existing environment that often attributes to rusting metal. Once the rusty surface has been sealed, BioSealants will stop the surface from rusting any more which will also save a lot of time and money in having to either clean the surface or in some cases replace that rusty component which could be extremely expensive.
BioSealants are available with an antimicrobial agent to help our customers achieve an even higher level of protection. An antimicrobial agent refers to the addition of biocides to protect the finished applied sealant from biological infestation and growth. This antimicrobial air barrier is currently designed to combat salmonella, fungi and various bacteria.
